Description
How Athens the capital city of an ancient glorious past became a bunch of chaos, noise and urban ruins? How from Acropolis can someone end up next street, walking to a "dark" area that no Greeks go? Or which ones go? Who actually lives and works in the most underground neighborhoods of Athens and how queer people managed to survive this long in such a harsh hetero-normative 'jungle'? What does it take to live in Athens today? All these questions, as well as more, are going to be answered through observing, discussing and experiencing the Athenian urban decay.
In this walk we are going to exchange perspectives and feelings created from the places we visit and the stories we hear. You will have the chance to see the uncensored side of Athens. You will also be able to participate to an interactive game with cards, with words in a language you certainly know nothing about and unfold the history of it.
Note: Some places or activities we see, are of sensitive content and might make you feel uncomfortable. Thus, it would be good to let me know about it at the beginning of the tour, so I can adapt the route accordingly.
