I really enjoyed this tour. It gave a unique perspective to see the shipyard that is still working the old fashioned way, and we hear the stories about the process of shipbuilding and struggles the industry goes through today. We got to see the largest sailboat in the world made right there in Split. It was pretty cool! I definitely recommend this tour.
This is a true behind the scenes tour of how a major ship gets built, starting from the raw steel right through to the final product. You walk through the whole yard, seeing every step in action, and feeling their genuine pride in their workmanship. Complete with magnets, conveyors, welding torches, cranes, and a massive steel bending machine - this tour has them all and more. But then there is also the interior design of the ships, and if a yacht or cruise ship is there, then you’ll see some amazing craftsmanship, especially in woodworking (and you’ll imagine your own episode of Below Deck Med!) The tour guide is very knowledgeable and is great with sharing information and stories as well as engaging with all kinds of questions. It was a special opportunity I really appreciated.
