KELP SHACK MAGIC
This experience will take you on an unexpected environmental and culinary journey.

The Cape kelp forests have recently been announced as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It is the only forest of giant bamboo kelp on our planet, harbouring other-worldly creatures, startling abundance, and rich biodiversity. This enormous habitat fringes the shores of Cape Town and stretches north for more than 1000km into Namibia.

You will be hosted by an epic team of experts who are motivated in environmental conservation and education. They will take you on a magical coastal walk, where you will learn about the indigenous flora and fauna, past and present history, as well as learn how to cook with kelp. It’s all about connecting us as humans to nature and promoting sustainable food sourcing.

Food - Lunch - A delicious 4 course kelp inspired meal. All ingredients are organic and locally sourced so menu changes according to availability

KALK BAY ENCHANTMENT 

Forbes ranked Kalk Bay as the coolest Neighbourhood in the World in 2018, and for obvious reasons. The quaint streets and cafes are filled with foodie delights, and offer a World of different cuisines, set between Victorian and Edwardian period buildings. The curio shops are filled with rare books, keepsakes, and fashionable items among bohemian style antiques, and exquisite items that will tweak your senses. Meet the people that have shaped this neighbourhood, namely local fisherman, clergy, and storeowners, as well as the “Aunties” of Filipino ancestry that have shaped this amazing place . Kalk Bay remained a mixed community of people from diverse backgrounds even during the Apartheid years and continues to draw a diverse mix of people from all across the globe, visiting and enjoying this seaside village.

POSITIVE IMPACT donations are made to the local shelter in the community.
